It’s April, so benefit rates change. Here are the current rates relevant to young jobseekers:

Contribution-based Jobseeker’s Allowance

Aged 16-17: £50.95
Aged 18-24: £50.95
Aged 25 or over: £64.30

Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance

Personal allowances – single people

Aged 16-17: £50.95
Aged 18-24: £50.95
Aged 25 or over: £64.30

Personal allowances – couples

Both aged 16-17: £50.95
Both aged 16/17, one disabled: £50.95
Both aged 16/17, with responsibility for a child: £76.90
One aged 16/17, one aged 18-24: £50.95
One aged 16/17, one aged over 25: £64.30
Both aged 18 or over: £100.95

Lone parents rate

Aged 16-17: £50.95
or depending on their circumstances: £50.95

Aged 18 or over: £64.30

Note too that there are significant changes to the day most people will receive their benefits. Once it has all happened, payments will be fortnightly in arrears (of course) and on a day linked to the last two digits of the person’s national insurance number.
